South Cumberland State Park has over 12,000 acres spread over ten areas in four different counties in southeast Tennessee. In addition to some of the best scenic hiking trails in the state, the park offers campsites, sports recreation areas, swimming at Grundy Lakes, nature programs and a museum. Visitors are encouraged to stop by the visitors center to view the monthly events schedule and to obtain camping permits. The center is located between Monteagle and Tracy City, about 50 miles northwest of Chattanooga.
